Every night before going to bed little Sarah climbed onto her father's knee and begged him to read a story for her. One day the father had what he thought was a brilliant idea. He bought a CD with all Sarah's favourite stories. That evening he taught her how to use the CD player. "Now you can have all the stories you like, whenever you want", he told her.
All went well for a few days. Then one evening Sarah was back on Daddy's knee begging for a story. "But you know how to use the CD player and the actors read the stories much better than I can", he said.
"The CD player is fine, Daddy, but you see, I can't sit on its lap".
Children need people more than things.
