VIDES Ireland is part of an International Voluntary Organisation, which promotes voluntary service – the focus being on protection of human rights, specially women and young people worldwide. VIDES is an important element of our work as Salesian Sisters. It asks us to be God-bearers by promoting social justice, solidarity, generosity in sharing and giving of themselves.
VIDES began its work in Europe in 1987, was Constituted in 1990 and on April 23, 1991, it became an “International Non-Profit Association ” (NGO).

SAVIO (Salesian Volunteers Ireland & Overseas) is the volunteering branch of the Salesians of Don Bosco in Ireland. SAVIO provides opportunities for adults to participate in the Salesian Mission in different centres throughout the world. Volunteers are able to ‘learn through action’ about justice and peace issues and the charism Don Bosco has passed on.
