Catholic Schools Week 2012

We had a wonderful occasion in Our Lady of the Rosary parish on January 31^st, Feast of St. John Bosco. Over 750 pupils from the six schools within the Parish gathered to celebrate in a Prayer Service. The theme “Christ’s living body active in the World”.

One hundred and fifty students from the following schools in our parish were involved in the paryer setrvice.: Salesian Infant, Primary and Secondary Schools, John F.Kennedy Memorial School, Ard Scoil Rís, Villiers were the schools involved..

The theme was brought to life in Music, Song, Readings and Drama. The involvement, engagement, participation and attention of the young people gathered in the Church created a very remarkable atmosphere.

The willingness of teachers from the six schools to be involved was very encouraging and made the task of co-ordinating the event very worthwhile. Míle Buíochas to each one. For us it was also a wonderful way of celebrating the feast of St. John Bosco with our young people.

Celebrating 40 Years of Life and Learning in Caherdavin, Limerick: From December 20^th – 22^nd, the Salesian Girls’ Primary School in Caherdavin, Limerick celebrated 40 years of educational presence in this area of Limerick by presenting what they called a “Ruby Extravaganza Show”. Every pupil in the school from junior infants to 6^th class was involved in what proved to be a lively, joyful and colourful performance, full of singing and dancing.
