Our Lady Queen of Ireland
Sinead was a pupil in Bawnogue National schools from 1991-1999. Though these are Parish Schools, the FMA have had a strong presence in the area since 1978. They are involved in many ways in the schools, parish, community and in youth work and are very much part of the place.
From an early age Sinead loved drama, singing and dancing.
In 1998 she was among the first members of "Follow Your Dream", a programme spearheaded in the area by Sr. Gemma Beggan FMA and helpers, where Sinead was able to pursue her love for singing. She later took private lessons and entered many competitions, performing in the National Concert Hall, in Pantomimes, Musicals and on National Television.
She was a very loyal member of the parish children's choir for many years and made a great contribution to it and has always been willing to support her local community by sharing her giftedness. She was involved in the recording of the CD "Dolcain's Meadow", (in which Sr. Catherine Kelly FMA played a big part), as well as in the RTE radio Mass.
Sinead's parents and family have always been very supportive of her and they, with all of us are very proud of her. We wish her well as she and the band, Black Daisy, perform the song Etcetera in the Eurovision semi-final in Moscow on Thursday,
May 14th.
